about Goldner String Quartet’s Innermost Thoughts tour

Join Goldner String Quartet as they share their Innermost Thoughts. With a career spanning almost 30 years, the quartet has decided to hang up their bows, but not before sharing some of their favourite works. In a thought-provoking program, featuring compositions by Mozart, Shostakovich, and Schubert audiences will get an insight into the intimate thoughts of some of the greatest minds in history.

about Alex Raineri’s Fairytales tour

Described as “a born communicator” (The Australian), Alex Raineri presents Fairytales. Weaving tales of passion, loss, and beauty, Fairytales showcases works by contemporary Australian composers John Rotar, Michael Bakrnčev, Katy Abbott, and Ian Whitney, culminating in Melody Eötvös’ Piano Sonata No. 2, based on a lesser-known Hans Christian Andersen tale, ‘A Story from the Sand Dunes’.

Music in the Regions has a simple mandate: to provide high quality classical music to audiences hungry for rich cultural experiences across regional New South Wales. From small ensembles to chamber orchestras, familiar names to emerging talents - this is the time for a different sort of rhythm.

Regional audiences are seeking creativity. Musicians are craving new experiences. Communities are looking for new ways to connect.

Now, through the partnership of Music in the Regions, the opportunity is here to forge relationships across thousands of kilometres through the power of music.

We want to make sure that no matter where you live in New South Wales, audiences have access to classical music performances, and that we continue to provide career and performance pathways and opportunities for classical musicians and groups, especially at this time when it is needed most.

– The Hon. Don Harwin MLC, NSW Minister for the Arts, 2017-2021
