Bringing classical music to regional nsw

We want to make sure that no matter where you live in New South Wales, audiences have access to classical music performances.

In just over three years, Music in the Regions has arranged over 100 concerts in regional communities from Lismore to Mallacoota, from Gloucester to Deniliquin and from Huskisson to Dunedoo.

Our commitment to regional audiences is that they will experience the joy of live performance from the very best chamber music ensembles performing in our capital cities.

It has been our pleasure to bring outstanding artists like the Goldner String Quartet, William Barton and Veronique Serret, Omega Ensemble, The Australian Haydn Ensemble, Ensemble Offspring, Luminescence Chamber Singers and many others to regional audiences.

We work with local partners to bring musicians to unique venues from museums to golf clubs, railway stations to pubs. Activating underused spaces suitable for performance is a key priority for us.

mUSIC IN communities

On every tour, we include free community programs targeting better social, educational and health outcomes. These have included master classes involving our touring artists with students at regional conservatoria and youth orchestras. We’ve also had touring artists working with a community dementia choir and we love getting our touring artists to bring the joy of performing live to kids at remote one or two teacher schools.

Musicians

Music in the Regions creates greater opportunities for regional audiences to tap into rich cultural experiences close to home and also facilitates unique performance opportunities for emerging and established classical musicians.

We provide career and performance pathways and opportunities for classical musicians and ensembles by making it simpler for them to tour to regional communities.
