A new independent touring organising called Music in the Regions was established in August 2021 to connect classical musicians with regional audiences in NSW. The inaugural tour featuring the Acacia Quartet will begin tonight in Goulburn and then tour to Gunning, Braidwood, Young, Temora and Cowra.

The Quartet will perform music by Mozart, Borodin and Australian composer Alice Chance in a range of different venues from a railway precinct in Temora to a courthouse in Gunning, and will also take part in workshops and professional development sessions along the way. Janine Collins, the Executive Director of Music in the Regions, spoke to Limelight about the initiative and the inaugural tour.
